Denver Bookbinding is opening their workshop doors again to welcome makers in to learn new techniques and create together. If you have longed to be creative and be with your tribe, we have two workshops in September to choose from.
Make an Italian Leather Journal
Saturday, September 4, 1-4pm @ Denver Bookbinding Company, 1401 W 47th Ave, Denver, CO 80211
Are you a lover of things medieval? Was Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter your secret or not-so-secret pleasure? We are hosting our Italian Leather Journal Workshop just in time for you to make a gorgeous bound journal as a gift for yourself or someone special. Supple, velvety leather, quality papers and great instruction from our master bookbinder, Gail Lindley, combine for a singular bookmaking experience. Learn to make your own leather journal with a tie closure. The finished size is approx. 6in x 9in with 60 pages that are hand sewn into the spine of the cover with waxed linen thread. You’ll come away with a one-of-a-kind journal or sketchbook and all the skills to make more journals on your own. Cost for this in-depth workshop is $85.00 and includes all instruction, handouts, materials and supplies. Class size is limited to six students. Please come prepared with either your mask or your record of vaccines.

Photo Display Stand from Old Books: DIY Workshop
Saturday, September 11, 1-3pm @ Denver Bookbinding Company, 1401 W 47th Ave, Denver, CO 80211
We’re ready to get out amongst ’em and make stuff! If you are too, join us for this workshop taught by Gail Lindley and Chris Gyorgy. You’ll make a beautiful and functional photo display stand out of a recycled book — a chic way to keep some of your favorite photos out to be admired. All materials will be provided for you to make one display stand at the workshop and we’ll send you home with materials to make another as a gift for yourself or someone you love. It is time to gather and be creative at long last. Cost for the class will be $15 and covers all supplies and materials. Please come prepared with either your mask or your record of vaccines.
